India’s upcoming Expressways in coming years

Under Bharatmala Pariyojana, Union Government has commenced more road projects with cutting edge technologies such as CCTV survelliance, speed and temperature measurement, SOS booths etc.

These are the Expressways that are expected to be completed in the upcoming years.

Delhi-Mumbai Expresway

This is projected to be India’s longest highway stretching 1,386km while connecting the cities Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat. Part of the highway Delhi – Jaipur has already been inaugurated and open for regular traffic. This project has estimated cost of ₹1,00,000 crore.

Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway

This is 700km long expressway connects Mumbai to Nagpur with a travel time of 8 hours. Mumbai to Shirdi stretch of 520 km has been already opened for regular traffic and this project is expected to complete in coming six to seven months. This project has estimated cost of ₹55,000 crore.

Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway

This expressway has a strech of 648km will be connecting Jammu and Kashmir’s Katra, holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi to Bahadurgarh border in Delhi. This 4 lane highway passes through Amritsar, Nokadar, Gurdaspur and it’s Phase 1 cost is ₹25,000 crore.

Ganga Expressway

This six-lane highway spreads over 594km covering cities Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Hardoi, Unnao, Pratapgarh and Raebareli. This project estimated cost is ₹40,000 crore.

Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway

This is 109km long four lane highway connects Sardar Patel Ring Road in Sarkhej to Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) via Dholera International Airport in Navagam. This project total estimated cost is ₹3,500 crore.
